What is Connected MOM?

Connected MOM is a program for expecting mothers. Your obstetric care provider will enroll you into the program and stay connected to you between visits. Through the program, you’ll receive a digital blood pressure cuff to submit blood pressure readings to your OB team from home to ensure your readings are within healthy levels.

Am I eligible to join Connected MOM?

To be eligible for the program, you must:

  • Be a patient of an Ochsner OB provider
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have an active pregnancy

Is there a cost to join Connected MOM?

Connected MOM is available at no additional cost to you.

How do I participate in the program?

You can join the program in three easy steps:

  1. Complete the consent questionnaire in your MyOchsner account
  2. Receive your blood pressure cuff and follow the provided instructions to download the Ochsner Digital Medicine app
  3. Take your first reading in the Digital Medicine app to finish enrollment

How will I communicate with my obstetrician and their team?

You can easily stay in touch with your OB provider during and after pregnancy through your MyOchsner account. You can use the MyOchsner app to call and/or message them directly. Be sure to enable MyOchsner notifications on your smartphone to stay aware of any incoming messages. If you need help with your device, please call tech support at
877-378-0073.

How do I receive and set up my wireless blood pressure cuff?

We will ship your device to your home, or you can pick it up at your local O Bar. As soon as you get your device, please follow the setup instructions in the Connected MOM Guide. For tech support, call our team at 877-378-0073 or visit the Resource Page. Remember, you are not enrolled in the program until you submit your first reading using the Ochsner Digital Medicine app.

How often should I submit my blood pressure readings?

To make sure you’re maintaining a healthy blood pressure for you and your baby, we encourage you to send readings two to three times per week. This will provide your OB team with the data they need to understand your pregnancy and catch potential issues sooner.

Can I rejoin the program if I plan to have more children?

Yes! We encourage our moms to participate in the program for each pregnancy. You will go through the same process as the first time you participated.
